This shukubo is located closest to the mountain gate of Zenko-ji temple. The principal image is a rare stone Buddha of Medicine. I hear many people stay in this lodging to worship this Buddha. The garden, which is their pride and joy, is said to have been constructed by Gengo Otaka, who is one of the Ako-roshi warriors made famous in Chushingura. In the fall, the Japanese maple leaves turn red and yellow. The scenery is truly worthwhile to see.

A shukubo staff member said, "The head priest or the vice-head priest usually guides guests around the precinct. Many of the guests are repeat visitors and we have a family relationship with them."
