Point

The statue of Namikiri Fudo Myoo (an important cultural asset. Open to public only on June 28), who is said to have calmed down the rough waves when Kukai was on his way home from To (present China) where he studied Buddhism. This temple has the conclusive position of 36 sacred places of the Fudoson Buddha in the Kinki district.

The building of this shukubo is pure Japanese style construction. Every room commands a view of the garden. After the tradition of Mount Koya, they serve shojin vegetarian cuisine, which includes seasonal ingredients as well as sesame tofu and Koya-tofu. The large public bath is made of 500 year old Koya-maki (podocarpus). If you wish, you can conduct shakyo (copying sutra by hand) in the tea ceremony room (reservation required).
