This is a shukubo of Myoshin-ji temple. It is a modern reinforced concrete building. I stayed there during the holidays in May. Because the person I traveled with did not like public baths, she looked for a shukubo with a private bath. This shukubo is truly like a hotel. The building is neat and clean and offers complete facilities. We enjoyed a very comfortable stay there. I think it is difficult to find such good accommodations for 6,500 yen during the consecutive holidays in May in Kyoto City. There are many shojin vegetarian restaurants or Kyoto cuisine restaurants around the lodging, but we ate in the restaurant inside the building as we had made reservation. They serve really tasty dishes! However, there were no morning religious services (which may be because this place was only for accommodation).
