This is an accommodation facility located in the forest in the precinct of Ohmijingu. It is located alongside the Tokai Nature Trail. It is also convenient as a base to visit historical sites such as the Ohtsu-kyo and Sufuku-ji ruins. Ohmijingu became known for competitive karuta (cards on which verses are written). High school and College competitions as well as the tournament for the Mater and Queen are held at this shukubo. Also, yabusame, a traditional event of shooting targets with arrows while riding on horseback, is held on November 3 every year, which makes the temple busy with many visitors. On the day of the yabusame event, a lecture on yabusame cultural lessons is given by the instructors of the Kamakura branch of the Takeda School (of yabusame). You can participate in the ritual that takes place in front of the altar. In this ritual, yabusame participants dedicate an arrow to the gods. As the first shrine with a clock in Japan, a clock museum is installed in the precinct and clepsydras (water clocks) and sun dials are on display. This shukubo does not offer religious experiences for guests, but you can freely participate in the various festivals and religious events.
